Looking for resources for your students, or want to improve your understanding of the Greek spoken word? One way to improve listening skills and to learn to understand native speakers when they speak at a normal rate, is, amongst other things, to listen to the Greekathon podcast!
Listening to the Greekathon podcast, as well as completing some of the recommended Learning Tasks, is a fantastic way of improving Greek language skills. By listening carefully to the podcasts, listeners have the chance to improve their accents and fluency as they gain more exposure to the sounds of the language. These podcasts will help listeners sharpen their comprehension skills, improve vocabulary and grammar, and enhance their ability to focus. Greekathon podcasts will also keep listeners in touch with the culture and allow them to delve into the Greek language at their own pace. Most importantly, Greekathon Podcasts tap into Greek-Australian realities, not only providing listeners with vocabulary and experiences which are relevant to them, but also are specifically designed to fit in with the Victorian Curriculum and the VCE Study Design. Greekathon podcasts and resources have been designed and created by current teachers of Modern Greek in Melbourne, with the aim of providing resources to both students and teachers learning or teaching Modern Greek.
